Before I forget a wee bit progress yesterday,

back to sub assemblies

Cranes.

And Boats.

Painting the props, I use citadel metallics, the darker prop is a base coat of "warplock bronze" the finished prop is in the wonderfully named "scullcrusher brass,"

More soon

coming along nicely, Si. And the wedding cake looks great!

Thanks Russ,

Couldn't think of a better description for three tier directors, they do give a certain something to the look of the vessel.

Very nice work, Si!
Fast progress and crisp and clean as usual she's looking really good. And you can already see the finish line approaching!

Cheers,
Jan

Thanks Mate, appreciate your kind words and support as always.

Still quite a distance to go, the finish line is only visible from the main director

This weekend's progress,

Got some spraying done.

The main superstructure units with their decks painted and fixed down.

And the lower section of the forebridge in place, couple of gaps that need filling, but nothing major,

The funnel is only test fitted, needs the white bnad decal adding before fixing.

Managed to sneak a quick session at the bench yesterday.

The Foretop.

Mid section.

Upper section.

And finally all three put together.

That is both "wedding cakes" built, hoping the weather improves a bit so I can get the windy stick out and get some colour on the these sub assemblies.

more soon,

Happy New Year to all.

Cheers

Si,

that's great etch work! Things are coming together here as well!

Thanks Jan,

Hobby Boss etch has come on since their earliest kits, I have to say, that in my opinion, when it comes to ship kits they are the Boss right now, if you'll pardon the pun.

A bit more progress over the weekend.

More detail on the after superstructure.

Time to tackle some more sub assemblies.

The three sections of the after director tower.

Test fitted together.

The centre to top is a tight fit, and the railings will need a tidy up.

The catapult, basic assembly, the actual etched section does need to be handled with care, but it does want to fold in the right places.

with it's detail parts added.

More after Christmas.

Thanks Jan,

They are unusual, that does seem to be a quirk of French design.

Good to see you back on the board again mate, looking forward to some progress on the Hood.

In and watching you here as well, Si!

You are doing a nice and fast job, very special looking ships those sisters, the French had a very uncommon design.
Looking forward to see her grow!

Hi Michael,

I must say I am very impressed with what Hobby Boss are doing at the moment, a good level of detail, a good amount of etch, not a vast a mount of microscopic parts, and some of the more recent kits, (Alaska & Seydlitz) even include maindeck railings.

Don't tell Mrs Duster, but I also picked up the Seydlitz at Telford,

Cheers

Si
