The Build...
I decided to be a bit different, and build my Repulse as she appeared in 1938.This was lucky,as there are several errors in the kit ,which require modification ,to produce her 1941,"as Sunk"appearence.I removed all traces of the 20mm,and also removed the Pom-pom,mount on the aft "flying deck",and replaced it with a triple 4" mounting. The engine room vents were not fitted,as these were added during a War-time refit. No aircraft was carried in 1938,so that saved me scratch-building a Shark aircraft.
The experimental twin 4"Betweendecks turrets came from the ISW Queen Elizabeth kit,it needed
slight alteration to match those on the Repulse. I can heartily recommend this kit,in spite of the mistakes for the `41 version, and I thoroughly enjoyed building it.
