Naval Institute Press- German Naval Camouflage Volume 0ne 1939-1941.

By John Asmussen & Eric Leon

ISBN 978-1-84832-142-7

This is an excellent book for anyone interested in German naval camouflage in the pre-war to 1941. The Color plates are very well done. This makes it very easy for the modeler to paint the ship the correct way for the time period chosen.

The book starts with the types of camouflage used. The second chapter which I find most interesting is on the use of "scale effect".

The following chapters go into complete color plates of the ship camouflage by date, very useful. even though the book states 1939-1941 some of the color plate go all the way back to 1934.

Contents

This includes complete class chapters on:

Capital Ships

Heavy Cruisers

Light Cruisers

Destroyers

And a final chapter on German shipboard float plane colors and markings.

This is an excellent book in all respects.
SUMMARY
Highs: Just can not say enough of how much I enjoyed this book. I bought it for my Heavy Cruiser Blücher build. Glad I did as there are a few others on my build list as well. The printing and paper used in the making of this book are very high class
Lows: None found
Verdict: I think I said it all in the Highs

Todd ask me for some sample pages and I thought no I do not want to bend the binding for the book to go into the scanner. So, I just took the camera and did a couple of pics.
