History The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 (Russian: Микоян и Гуревич МиГ-15; NATO reporting name: "Fagot") is a jet fighter aircraft developed by Mikoyan-Gurevich OKB for the Soviet Union. The MiG-15 was one of the first successful swept-wing jet fighters, and achieved fame in the skies over Korea, where, early in the war, it outclassed all straight-winged enemy fighters in most applications.
Later, the MiG-15 would also serve as a starting point for the development of the more advanced MiG-17. The MiG-15 is believed to have been one of the most widely produced jet aircraft ever made; in excess of 12,000 were manufactured. Licensed foreign production may have raised the production total to over 18,000. The MiG-15 is often mentioned, along with the North American F-86 Sabre, as the best fighter aircraft of the Korean War, and among the best fighter aircraft of all time.

In the box Packed in an end opening box this dual combo set of the famous MiG -15 has four grey sprues, two clear sprues, a set of instructions, a decal sheet and a set of masks. There are seven marking options in this boxing, with one sprue holding the parts for a MiG-15 and the other sprue holding the parts for a MiG-15bis. Only one of each type can be built from the available parts.
The two kits may be tiny, but the detail is pretty good, with a one piece cockpit tub, complete with an ejection seat and control coloumn, and a decal for the instrument panel.
The exhaust is made up of one piece, and slots into the rear of the fuselage. A air inlet splitter attaches to the front of the cockpit tub, so the see through look is eliminated.
The wheel wells have some nice detail moulded into them. The undercarrige has some great detail, if a little overdone in this scale, for the wheels.
The fuselage is made up of two halves split into upper and lower parts, with the wings attached to the upper section, which has some very fine recessed panel lines adorning the exterior. The wings have the flaps and ailerons moulded onto the wings.
External stores for the kit comprise of 4 under nose cannons, which are only used for markings B and C, two types of external fuel tanks, and four bombs, for marking F only.
Two one piece canopies are supplied, but due to the very small nature of these parts are a little thick with a bit of distortion.
The one great little thing for this kit is a set of masks for the canopy, and the wheel hubs. The masks are a godsend as the MiG has a greenhouse style canopy and in this small scale will be difficult to paint.
Instructions and markings The instruction booklet is the typical Eduard folded A4 size booklet, printed on glossy paper, with a logical build sequence. Internal colours are given for the Gunze range of paints.
Seven marking options are available, with four MiG-15bis, and three MiG-15, of which you can build and paint one of each type.
Each marking option is in full colour, and has all profile views available.

A small decal sheet is supplied which holds all the markings for the aircraft. Printing is crisp with good colour registration.
